Do orthodontics actually recess maxilla?

I had invasalign since 15-16 but my side profile has only improved since then, my chin has legit moved forward..

I had those rubbers and my face changed for good since then lol... Anything to reverse it?
There are different types of treatments. Some of them cause forward growth as it pushes the maxilla upwards while others can bring it backwards, which is counterproductive if you have nice facial growth.

It's a very frustrating topic for us who had bad results . I've heard that there's no problem with invisalign when it comes to that tho. Never used it.
