I'm pretty good with not saying "retard" and other words of such in public.

But on a college campus some people might "care." Not that they really do, but maybe just to be performative. As I feel campuses have a tight-knit culture with that stuff (at least higher-ranked schools).

So maybe not something you say in a lecture hall or anything, or in a big group. If you care about people perceiving you as a jerk or calling you out.
