Do the side hairs also thin from male pattern baldness?

I know they at least don’t get hit as hard as the crown temples and midscalp but does MPD effect the sides at all?

Well it’s either solely due to the chemotherapy I received or the chemotherapy triggered some form of hairloss that I was predisposed to wether it be autoimmune or MPD.
At least that’s what my dermatologist says

Apparently in retrograde alopecia the hairline goes back as well
My crown is thinner than the rest but from what I can see my hairline is intact
My sides are somewhat thicker than the stop not by too much tho

Usually sides and back hair aren't affected by dht

Yes, both are definitely possibilities. Anecdotal evidence, but I know from others that took accutane (which was originally used as a chemo drug) that it indeed caused the sides to thin, so there might be an actual correlation between those types of drugs and this special form of hair loss. Sadly there doesn't seem to be enough proper research conducted on this topic, so yeah...
