They had way more free time. Only slaves that lived in cities for the industrial revolution were worked to death. In the colonies that would form the United States most men just farmed and partied. Many people didn't have use for currency as they just bartered and lived by their own hands. Their was enuf free time they could perfect western cub with a codified set of rules that later on would become the constitution
