depends on the area. The best situation is when there are lots of houses nearby that rent out to students. Then u can have block parties and shit

I lived in a dorm and i would say the majority of the larger campuses mandate it but only if you are under 20 and have not had an academic semester outside of the summer leading into the initial fall term. but thats just how my uni does it
