Most of what we do is shaped by our past and habits, so we’re not fully free. But we’re not controlled like machines either, we still have a small space to choose differently. So real life is in the middle, we don’t have total free will, just a limited ability to decide.

Now imagine if you would have to work a 9-5 to provide for yourself, you can choose to either not work or work, one results in starvation and the other one results in you having to slave away, we don't have full control over our free will.

Putting yourself in the best position looks wise will determine your future in life. There's countless of factors that your appearance will affect in life.

You have to differentiate from will and freedom. You have free will but you might not be free. Will is something you have, we all have will. Determinism on will about only works in retrospective
