wrinkles are generally considered unattractive as they signify aging, but is the trade off worth it for more vertically narrow eyes?

Opposite. Wrinkles are a sign of a weak infraorbital region.
 
nope, but orbicularis oculi training imo could potentially increase support (tbh im not completely sure about it).
