It had no neck; it looked like its head just had a smooth gradient that eventually widened into what seemed like shoulders. Its silhouette and movement were unmistakenly humanoid. It was black ink against an already fairly deep blue night sky with only a few stars in it and indistinct figures of trees far off in the back.

Back then it was a deep winter, with snow everywhere. I left my room to pee outside as my home is a country home and I never got any plumbing in it. The real purpose was to smoke cigarettes undisturbed; I could never own up to admitting that vice to my mother. To give you an idea, there is a bush I piss in. It has no leaves, just bare branches. Looking straight at it there is a fence maybe 6 meters away. Slightly to the right is a cellar mound that rises maybe 3 meters above the ground. The outline of the fence is broken up by this mound if you pan your eyes right when looking straight ahead. This detail will be important later. Looking at the fence you could make out some trees far off behind, maybe 50 meters away. So it wad dark, but not pitch black.

I took a piss and started smoking a leftover cigarette. Maybe a couple of drags worth, but enough for that moment. Right ahead, behind the fence I saw it for probably three seconds. This enormous figure walked by it, moving heavily as it made its way to my right. Only the cellar covered it. I heard no noise. It was so distinct, hyper real almost. Not something that could have been mistaken for anything else; a real, distinct entity. Dark like the darkest gradient you can get on an editing software. Pitch black. Distinct even in the dark. Its head and shoulders were above the fence. Fence itself is around 2m tall. Both sides and everything up and around it is covered by waist deep snow. I left and went inside with no fear, instead I was deeply apprehensive of what I had seen. Could it have been a moose? These things are enormous. But it would have made a ruckus of noise in the still winter night. No snow crunching, no exertion. Not a single sound. I checked both sides of the fence the day after. It didn't snow that night. I genuinely felt no fear. There were nights I was afraid to go out. That surprised me the most. My home always had a dark feeling to it; my slayer grandad choked himself to death while drunk and vommitting in the bed. My gran woke up to a dead man. She had no clue. Well I've had that feeling a lot. I remember when I was a kid me and my family rented out a beach house with another family. No one in my family ever talked about or believed in ghosts, yet almost everyone got creepy vibes in that house like were not wanted/being watched. I guess it's just that sixth sense. If you're ever in the woods and you get that feeling and everything goes silent it's time to be watching your surroundings. It could just be a cougar, a human, or maybe something else.
