Do you believe in objective morals?

We currently dont have any proof for objective morality existing so we could assume it doesnt exist at all.

No, morality is a means to an end for organizing society and is never universal, morality only applies to the ingroup and not the outgrouo

Serious question though, how can you make an objective moral claim over somehting being objectively bad if you believe in a secular worldview, you can argue that it is it beneficial and makes society worse of but that does not make it bad in of itself, especially when historically rape was demonized when it was done in peace time but was never seen as bad or punished during war time against enemies

because i think there are moral truths that exist independently of human opinions, similar to how objective facts in science don't depend on whether people believe in them

Yeah but objective scientific facts are always based on clear objective and currently determinable fundaments and morals arent, you can just keep asking why an action is bad (for example hurting another human being) and well why is that bad? Because it hurts the other human being and why is that bad? And there eventually isnt an answer anymore, it being bad is a normative judgement, not a scientific fact like the atomic number of carbon. And different cultures and individuals draw the boundary differently what counts as “hurting,” justified exceptions etc.

yeah i agree they cant be proven like scientific facts, but that doesnt mean they cant exist objectively. they could be truths that require a different kind of justification than empirical evidence, so id say its possibly true rather than certain
