You need height for basketball. If you’re 5’9, youre at an automatic disadvantage, in every position. If you work as hard as you can, someone who’s 6’5 and puts in 50% of the work you put in will get in ahead of you and be more effective than you are because they have a vital trait that you’re lacking.True but at 5’9 you wouldn’t be considered for that position as it’s not fitting for your height. If you put in enough dedication you could easily take on another role on the team. The same applies to acting or music some are more inclined than others but humans are very good at getting good at something you dedicate yourself to.
This is why there’s almost no one short in the NBA. The “short end” within the NBA is like 6’1-6’4, which is Tall compared to the general population. 6’3 and up in the US is very tall. Its not like manlets don’t play the sport, they do. But they don’t make it. Because they lack height. It’s the same exact reason as to why you don’t find many giants in soccer
