Entirely depends on the district. Teachers in some states like MA make ~$120k after a few years of experience. You're in the UK though right? So you're probably fucked as long as you stay there.

43k euros, but it can rise up if you are really good and decide to get into a leadership role

You should consider moving to the US, you could make a bit less than double that in a good district with just 2 years of experience.

Yes, my mom is a university professor but she has teacher friends in MA school districts. Most get paid around $130,000. You can look up the salaries since they're public employees.

If you live in a suburb and are willing to commute 15-20 mins cost of living won't be high. I'm not sure if MA is the highest paying state for teachers though, they do hire a lot of fresh grads though. Do some research and find the best paying school districts in America. Maybe you can get a work visa to the US to see how it's like for a year and decide if you prefer teaching in the US.

Defo middle class, respected (not as much as before), crazy long holidays, government and union benefits, amd if it'd a real subject you will be on £50k pretty soon, which is like £65k in a reap job when u consider holidays, and it's secure af

That's all I did as a teacher. No lesson planning or buying any of my own materials. Just walk in the classroom and move around a bit while saying things for two 40 minute intervals with a 10 min break in between. Lol, one year I was drunk and stoned for 80% of my time in the classroom. Sucking on a weed pen in the corner where the camera couldn't see me.

It entirely depends on who you teach. Private school teacher = upper class. Public school teacher = lower class.

It just doesn't feel like a job I could half ass, the way I could for one like retail

and even If I could manage to half-ass my teaching, the test results alone would tell on me
