Unless you sever the brain stem or spinal code, or damage the brain so severely that the pressure quickly causes the brain stem to sever, you will not die instantly and will suffer tremendously. The brain is surprisingly durable, yet small and hard to hit directly.

If you don't sever the brain stem, you'll have to wait to die via blood loss, and that can take hours.

A shotgun is by far the most effective weapon (with high buckshot) because the damage is so explosive and basically guarantees you'll damage the brain severely.

im pretty sure the bullet will hit your brain before it can send any signals to the rest of your body to let you feel any pain and your brain itself cannot feel any pain, if the bullet kills your brain instantly you will feel no pain but if you survive the gunshot you will feel pain.

that's horrifying. shotgun to coconut or exit bag indeed seem to be the most viable options by a long shot. then again, if someone is desperate enough to do it, they probably don't care all that much
