When I'm on a low-calorie diet I feel like I lost 20 IQ points. The brain is sharper with maintenance calories.

I don't know. WHy do you ask?Are you mesomorph?
I meant endomorph btw. I asked because they have different metabolisms. Endomorphs would have a hard time on a restrictive diet.I don't know. WHy do you ask?
I can function when I'm maintaining low body fat percentage, it's just the process of getting there, i.e., deficit calories when I feel that my brain is slower than normal.I meant endomorph btw. Im ectomorph and have relatively normal energy at around 8 - 10 percent bodyfat. It's because I just burn the food I eat. Endomorphs try to store much of the food they eat.
Probably just your body adjusting tbh.I can function when I'm maintaining low body fat percentage, it's just the process of getting there, i.e., deficit calories when I feel that my brain is slower than normal.
It should be the opposite. Your brain functions more efficiently when it uses ketone bodies as fuel instead of glucose. This is why people tend to be more alert in the fasted state. When I'm on a low-calorie diet I feel like I lost 20 IQ points. The brain is sharper with maintenance calories.
