I just wonder how many people actually use them; with a regular toothbrush, you can never really get between your teeth and the gums, so food particles can rot there or bacteria can multiply. Aside from long-term tooth damage and other health issues, one of the main problems is bad breath. The interesting thing is, I don't really recall anyone having bad breath—except for smokers, alcoholics, or elderly people whose teeth and gums are already in the bay anyway.
I find it hard to believe that teenagers are actually using dental floss or interdental brushes.
