I live with my mum and she is very caring to me, cooks etc..

But on holiday of my own, I completely forgot she existed.

Thats how it is normally you cant think about everyone you ever knew all at once at all times. Unless you are severely socially isolated then they all flash on the wall like a horror game every time you try to go sleep
