I've been complimented on my intelligence and ability to speak English since late childhood, but that NEVER, ever, elicited any romantic or sexual response from women/girls. Not even being a moral person in their eyes.

They never cared about this. They didn't even want to know me better for my sharp intellect or sense of justice. And that shocks me even to this day.

I can make something of myself, develop a high sense of morality, be sentient/conscious, be smart, but none of that will have the impact that simply being good-looking will. Shit, that's a tough realization.
