Do you need to be social in high school?

My brother was talking about how you need to have lots of connections in high school. But I hate talking to someone I don’t know for more than 5 minutes especially small talk. Just wondering

if youre mentally not build for being alone then yes be social it can even open some crazy useful paths for you like for me

I mean I have friends obviously but like forcing myself into parties or meeting annoying ass people is terrible for me
