Do you need to use a conditioner for most hairstyles to work out?

I've never used a conditioner, only shampoo, but apparently you're supposed to use it once or twice a week or something. I wanna try to pull a prettyboy haircut so would I have to apply a conditioner for that, and if so how many times per week/how much?

stop using shampoo honestly man. U cant style ur hair with shampoo. Ur hair will fall flat. Just wash ur hair everyday and condition it so it doesn't get greasy. I started doing this and honestly i have HAIRMAXXED so much.

conditoner gives shine to ur hair and makes it smooth. Ur hair doesn't look greasy that way.

I use it cause my hair gets full of dandruff and pretty oily when I stay some days without it, I can get it a bit wavy with a blowdryer though not as near as how I'd want it so I think shampoo also isn't helping with that. Would a conditioner help with those things?
