I often do it. It acts like a deterrence. For example if I skip my run or workout one day I make up for it the next day by doing both that day's and the missed day's miles plus an extra 5 miles as a punishment fot being lazy and missing my goals. If I eat junk food when I shouldn't, I skip eating for the entire day. If I drink alcohol when I promis3d myself not to, I toss the bottle of whiskey in the bin and no alcohol for a month. It makes me more accountable and makes me take my things more seriously
