Ukraine wouldn't have simply been subjected to mass migration anywayUkraine being under the fold of a russian sphere of influence is not bad at all (despite the heavy losses in the war, that is tragic sure and was inevitable with causing death like all wars do), under the west they would simply be subject to mass migration and the dictating of americans and the EU, Russian and Ukraine identities are least heavily intertwined and are culturally almost the same and genetically indistinguishable (both derive from the same slavic populations, its like saying the afrikaners are not dutch but if you were to drop an afrikaner in the netherlands they would adapt instantly despite the different language and culture because they derive from the same source are genetically identical)
I don’t see that happening in other Eastern Slavic countries.
First of all, this is because there was no empire like Great Britain, France, or Spain. Secondly, Western European countries are wealthier
Of course, there is genetic overlap, but Russia is trying to assimilate Ukraine completely.
Ukrainians people are against mass immigration to Ukraine, there were even protests not that long ago
