In Europe you can't open carry in pretty much every country. Even getting a gun for self protection is almost impossible unless you have ties with the mafia. Even if someone attacks you on your own property at night and you shoot him, you will get punished with a jail sentence in Europe.

That's why many gangs in countries like the UK rather resort to stabbing people with knives because it's extremely hard to get a gun in the UK.

My personal opinion is that every citizen of a country should have the right to possess a class 2 weapon for the purpose of self defense and protection.

It just doesn't make sense to me that only mafia has access to guns which makes it harder to protect yourself from criminals. School shootings do indeed (almost) only happen in America exclusively, but what about teenagers getting stabbed in the UK all the time?

This isn’t true. Most people are just not aware how to purchase a gun in Europe legally because they never had to bother with it, Europe is mostly very safe. It’s not as straightforward as in the US, but you can still buy a gun for self defense in almost all European countries.
