Do you think daytrading is a good idea If you have money to play with?

I got offered a large sum of money to trade with If i wanted to, by a relative who liked my views. He Said that he would be Willing to offer it to me as a start If i was serious and that i could take 90% of the profits but that If i would lose all the money i need to pay it back but without any interest.

Considering 90% of traders lose money the first year this might be a stupid deal to take but then again it could be great in other ways.

Tl:dr is trading someone else money for a majority cut worthwhile?

Absolutely not, unless you are a super forecaster and can dedicate the time and energy

Alternatively, social and charisma max into successful day trader circles and know when they make moves

Nope. It's ineffective and a waste of time.

How to know if you are a super forecaster, or on the spectrum to one?

This is a Dunning Kruger problem, although there’s no record like winning.

But I would venture that if you are very good at 1) physics 2) reading comprehension (author intent, theory of mind), you will have good starting chops

I used to do it a few months ago with my margin account trading leveraged nasdaq funds. Was able to make $700 everyday pretty consistently but stopped cuz I live in asia and don’t want to stay up staring at screen. Also I would lose some money sometimes like $200 a day but still made more than I lost.

indices are better to trade than fx pairs or individual stocks. dow jones is great, no lack of opportunity during the ny session
