I've met plenty of individuals that are whiter and taller than me, but I wouldn't exactly trade my life for theirs, but likewise they wouldn't trade their lives for mine either. What we come to value is shaped partly by adaptation, by the particular stresses, burdens, and forms of life our nervous system learns to endure.

It's why envy is misleading in many cases, our primal brains can't help it. From a distance you envy one feature. Up close you realise it comes attached to an entire life system you may not want.
