Most of my irl friends and friends i have been friends with far back but still see on socials, all of them longterm with someone below there looks level. And most have meet them from dating apps with probably explains it due to hypergamy being big on there. I think with age hypergamy becomes worse because woman have had more partners and they want bigger and better. They also get aware of there total dominance in the sexual market with makes them even more hypergamous. So i dont think getting above or your looksmatched is eazy as you get older as the compensation factor most be huge( more money or soemthing). This is probably for 19+, another factor is women going to college which exposes them to the more international market of guys which makes them more hypergamous. So your hypothesis might be possible under 19 when girls are unaware.
