My uncle who was born at that time (ogrecel) flat out wished more people were ugly simply because he was so bullied.
Said no one was creative or nerdy back then. Maybe 10% of people had anything remotely to do with anything intellectual.
Most would rather be into monster trucks/ showing off masculinity.
The nerdcels here (most of us except for masculinity larpers) would hate it.
