Do you think skilled immigrants that come on H1B and other VISAs steal jobs?

Do you think they steal jobs?

I went through like 7 different rounds of interviews. I was asked everything from system design, to DSA to coding tests . They aren't just hiring randoms for a visa discount. These companies live and die on reliability. If H1Bs were dragging quality down. I literally would be the first person to be layed off. They would be first out in performance reviews but I instead see them getting promoted and take on newer more challenging roles.
lol so you just turned this into a brag thread like you always do jfl

So you debunked yourself. You didn’t need 2 years. It’s because they’re expecting you to know everything off the bat instead of teaching you on the job. If they taught you on the job you would not need that long. The course isn’t relevant either. Courses != on the job training

Yeah I’ll admit it companies do expect you to know pretty much everything off the bat, especially in DevOps roles. It’s not ideal, but that’s just how things have become th3se days tight deadlines, lean teams, and high stakes. No one has tome got time to babysit you through IAM, CI/CD, infra as code, and monitoring pipelines. You’re expected to jump in make sense of messy systems, and not bring production down. That’s not something you can just pick up from a course or learn in a couple of months and it’s why even getting interviewed for these roles takes years of hands-on grind and project work not just learning tools. This isnt caused by H1B it is just how thr industry has become.
