So my cousin recently wrote the IRDA exam. Basically an exam that allows people to issue insurances not very tough. Anyone can pass the tests with like a week worth of study. And this license allows you to give insurances and get a 10-20% commission on the premiums. Now my dad being the finance head routes it all through his name. There's nobody above my dad in the decision making process so he has the complete authority to select the agent he wants. So instead of giving it an outsider he keeps it in the family.
All big insurances of his company and even personal ones get stamped with his name and his team manages everything and does the due diligence so he is still acting in the best interest of the company and it clears internal audits with 0 problem and he gets free money sitting at home doing nothing.
