The thing about this is most people have a warped idea of what love really is because of mainstream media

If you try finding something in real life off real connections that are not from dating apps, you will probably be able to find "real" love. Although, thats not to say the girl wont be missing her first love every now and then. Just remember though, you (if you have a first love) will probably miss yours too.

I found it. Im 38 years old, she's 35, and we've been married for 8 years now. We've lived in 3 different countries on 2 continents since getting married in 2018 and have rented 12 different apartmentments/houses that we've lived in. Many times between renting domiciles we've lived for extended periods in hotels. When or son was born in 2021 we had been living at the Red Roof Inn in Knoxville Tennesse for the past two weeks.

Her and I met at work in 2016 but we never dated or anything while we were employed there. I was very rude to her and even downright mean. It was a school and our unusual work dynamic meant we always had to be in close proximity. She was technically my supervisor but inside the classroom she had to act as my assistant because my official title was "Foreign Expert". From the beginning I wanted her, and there was a strong chemical thing between us. I knew she felt the same way towards me but because of her professionalism and me having the notorious bad reputation I had at that place she gave me no openings. I was mean to her because of it.

I would purposely make her uncomfortable sometimes by asking her weird questions, making her think I was making fun of her, and sometimes yell at her in the classroom. I would be especially rude to her in front of her own supervisors whenever they were in the office or came to observe one of our classes. Other times, usually when we were alone, I would be inexplicably nice to her. One time when just us two were in the office I went downstairs to the shop and bought two ice cream bars then came back up and put one in front of her computer on her desk where she was sitting and said "This is for you." then just walked away. I'm not the type of person who ever buys shit for other people. She would later tell me that later on that day she asked the one of the other girls if she's ever seen Cody buy anything for anyone.

I eventually left that company. Just didn't show up to work one day. I has bought a one way ticket to South East Asia where I would spend the next six months binging on meth. One evening a couple months after I'd gotten off meth I randomly sent her a message on social media. We talked for about two hours that evening. She was no longer working at the same company herself. After that evening I didn't talk to her for another month because I had a lot of shit to take care of. When I messaged her again though we started talking every day in the mornings and evenings for a couple hours. It went on like that 5 months, our conversations strictly platonic, until I srnt her a video message explaining that I loved her. She messaged me back telling me that she felt the same way and that it was the happiest day of her life. I then told her to quit her job, come to the city I was then living in, and marry me. And that's exactly what she did. A week later we were husband and wife.
