If you were sick its probably parasites in the meat cleaning your system (dont quote me on this but the same thing happend first time i ate raw meat and my health became way better after the sickness)

Also most of my raw meat is from acme so probably

Its good practice, you never know if you accidentally touch mold somewhere without knowing, or touching some handrail at the mall and then coming back home with traces of someone else's fecal matter, dust and little bits of materials on your hands like plastics from sanitizers, clothes etc.

It's not a requirement, just good practice and only takes a minute

The chicken was probably toxic, if it smelled bad and tasted bitter. Otherwise it was likely detox. Bacteria carries out toxins, and raw nutrients repair your body.

Good liver tastes slightly sweet and irony. When fresh the colour should be red and little to no smell. When fermented the colour changes and begins to smell and taste sweeter, sour, and kind of nutty.
