I don't believe so. It's just when you shave you're slicing off both hair and the outermost layer of your skin leaving behind a fresh smoother surface. Or it could be that you're not use to seeing yourself clean shaven.

If I shave after not shaving for a while, then my face gets this amazing radiant glow for about a day or two. I don't get it when I shave everyday though.
