Does a Brazillian need legal documents to work online as a customer support representative for some random American's Dropshipping website?

My Brazilian friend needs money and i thought them working for some random American Redditor's Entrepreneur company would be a good idea but im guessing they need some sort of "visa"... or permit?

Edit: Tbh though there's probably no risk for the Brazilian to do it illegally/ under the table, it's only the American that has to worry..
