Does anybody else - young women not smiling back at you, not talking to you at places like work

I have not talked to a girl my age face to face in years probably, if I remember to smile or head nod while passing by I never get reciprocation unlike basically any other demographic. I do not know if theyre shy, stuck up, introverted, nervous, which might make sense being on the phone all the time, or maybe I'm just ugly. What are your guys' experiences?
