True maybe this is a narcissistic way of looking at things but if a friend isnt benefiting you more than you put in to maintain him whats even the point?

I mean u know that u will do for your fren as max as u can and he will do the same

For me true friendship is already the best benefit

But that just theory because if we are using my logic u will do all u can do to save your fren whatever what

And out of it we can imagine situation

U have a choice - choose to save your mum or same your best friend

Using my best friend's ideology, you'll have to choose a friend no matter what

How the ideal friendship looks like is really interesting topic

Lot of my day ones growing up were like that.Never occurred or mattered to me whether or not they brought my value
down or not they were my peoples.
