Does anyone else feel the need to be better than everyone else?

I’m almost 15, pretty tall for my age and I’m not unhappy with my looks but I always want to be better than everyone else. When I see someone who’s taller, better-looking, richer or more successful with girls, I feel envy and sometimes angry. I don’t just want to ascend. I want to be at the top, have others envy me and be the person they compare themselves to. Does anyone else feel this way? Is it normal?

I am in it, but i try to minimize participating in it as well as i possibly can, there is no leaving it ofc but i can be more grounded at least

Yes, It's so noticeable too, I'm way colder and hostile towards people who i perceive ''near my level''. I can only feel comfortable if there's some kind of power imbalance

You should research what people who have reached inner equanamity say. They are Saints that appear in Advaita Vedanta, Sufism, Sikhism, Orthodox Christianity

Surprisingly, despite the geographical, temporal and linguistic differences, they all preach the same thing
Across continents, across millenia

And this aligns with what even isolated societies found themselves.. like those in Ancient Mesoamerica - Mayans
