Does anyone else get paralysed by thought of losing their parents?

I’ve been getting these thoughts since I was young. Maybe 10+ years old and it’s really fucking me up. These thoughts show up from time to time, but when they do I get hung up by the fact that losing my parents is an inevitability. It really does ruin my mood for the week.

I’m not exactly sure what will happen to me when they die, but when they do it won’t be good for my mental health at all.

This topic really does worry me so please tell me I’m not the only one

You're definitely not the only one. These thoughts come and go for a lot of people.
It's a unique emotion for sure, I don't even dare think about it recently...

Yeah everyone has that but at the end of the day that’s sadly how the life cycle works so instead of worrying try to accept it as soon as possible so it‘ll hurt less

I try not to think about it at all but it really comes from out of nowhere. I’ll have a good day and the thought just pops into my head

How do you deal with this?

Yeah I get what you’re saying. I know it’s inevitable, I know I WILL have to deal with it; but I really do worry for the day when it happens

You need to have something to do if it takes too much of your mental space, find a purpose.
As you said, it is inevitable. Truly understanding that fact means being able to let go of the thought to a certian extent.
