Does anyone else go through intense periods of self-loathing (shame cycles)?

Feeling like you want to punish yourself, isolating yourself, constantly going over thoughts, etc...

Just this belief that there is something inherently defective about yourself, it's a very specific feeling that goes beyond what most people occasionally experience.

Yes. I’ve ascended to a point where I look good enough to get constant attention for it but my self esteem fluctuates a lot and I tend to hyperfocus on the flaws in my face, body, character/neurochemistry etcetera. Usually I’m able to shut those thoughts down or move on from the thought loop but sometimes it turns into a spiral and I feel suicidal or have a crying breakdown. As embarrassing as that is to admit

You need to develop stronger values and reflect on what you consider to be truly important.

It's a hard task (I'm quite bad at it myself) but basing your self-worth on your appearance and external qualities is bound to lead to misery.

That makes a lot of sense. I’m not sure how to get out of this mindset though. Lately I’ve just been laser focused on ascending harder, I’m throwing money at this shit and spending a lot of time and energy on it. The prospect of ascending is the only thing that makes me happy lately & I can’t stop thinking about my failos

Lol I'm the same, I gained 10lbs and have been obsessed with weight loss recently.

Tbh, I'm technically a Christian but I find myself really fixated on becoming better-looking. It's funny because back when I was skinny a few months ago, my life objectively wasn't that much better at all.
