I understand why people will claim to be a height taller than they are or natty status when they're on roids but why doesn't anyone at all do the opposite?
Unless you're social climbing, I don't see the convenience in lying about yourself 24/7 especially if you want to form genuine connections. Its kind of pathetic and if you get caught it will put you in a really shitty spot. I always claim to be 5'2 when speaking to people online and I even use photos of a guy who is facially lower average and everyone I'm friends with online doesn't really care.
Whenever I tell people my actual height, I go out of my way to mention that I wear 3 inch insoles to make me taller for higher status. People don't care, if anything, they find me more authentic, but the same people do care when they find out that other people who lie about their height wear lifts. I'm not making this up. I think more people should be more authentic or downplay themselves.
