Does anyone else only have four rectus abdominis muscles (x2 on each side)?

When I browse physique threads people either have 6 abs or they aren't lean enough for all of the potential cuts to be seen, rarely ever do I see see people with only four, I did a Google search and the AI prompt told me ~15% of people have four but I'd rather look for anecdotes than trust it at this point, I feel like I don't see enough of my kind, especially on ShitTok but here as well

Physically I have 6 but I have to get super super lean for the lower 2 to show so 99% of the time I just maintain a blurry 4 pack jfl

I think women think that If you have four abs you just haven't trained hard enough

No it really depends on individuals. It's more common to only have the four abs and while the two lower ones are here too, they'll never grow. Leanness plays a role but it's mostly genetics ; I know for a fact that I have only the four visible abs and those two will always be flat no matter what I do.

Training abs dynamically can make a huge difference over time, just like any other muscles full ROM dynamic training of Rectus abdominis can make a big difference in size and definition ie forward lumbar/waist flexion. Guys saying abs are all about low bodyfat are coping as fuck, just look at skinny teenagers and computer nerds or concentration camp/starvation survivors and they got literally zero abs definition. Maybe you are already training abs/Rectus abdominis in full ROM though? Then it would be more genetically determined, yeah. Is what it is. A lot of nice abs are made up out of obliques anyway so you can always train those more for sicker "nice sexy abs" definition especially the lower V-line horizontal fibers(they perform rotation).

Of course I already train abs. Maybe I should hit them more frequently but I'm pretty sure my genetics made me with the four upper abs which can pop while the two left stay flat. Abs are a muscle and grow depending on training. Low bodyfat helps with visibility but if there's no muscle then there's nothing to see aka definition.

As I've stated before and we agree on this ; your genetics determine your abs muscles bellies and symmetry.
