Had a part time position at a local company after finishing high school, mostly menial lab work and such. Had some extracurriculars and advanced biology classes from school but that’s about it.

The main reason was of course because I had family in the sector. Nepotism is worse than ever these days. There were no listed job offerings or whatever, a lot of hirings outside of the public eye.

A lot of these smaller companies also tend to work closely with local universities. Meaning they often target-hire graduates right after they’re done with their studies. There’s often already an established relationship through thesis work etc.

Yeah, I heard that from my professors. What kind of lab work is usually done and for what kind of salary?
