Does it actually work even to an extent or is it cope? I also heard it can benefit muscke mass and energy, but research hasn't brought me much.

sure debloat, but to lose fat, you need to eat less and move more lol
 
it debloats you but it won't make you lose fat

debloats, hydration is key for performance while training -> hypertrophy, does not lose fat ofc but if ur drinking that much water chances are you're gonna be to full to eat above maintenance calories anyway
