depends what drug you overdose from from heroin oxycodone fentanyl benzos or alcohol is not that bad you will die from respiratory depression=stopping breathing entirely so not as painful because if you took too high doses you will probably be out cold already but cocaine/meth more painful bc of heart attack stroke or arrhythmias(irregular heart beat leading to cardiac arrest) MDMA/LSD if taken in extremely high doses can cause overstimulation causing seizures or hyperthermia from extremely high body temperature. Tylenol synthetic drugs or polysubstance use too much can cause organ failure or toxicity causing delayed death after overdose. And sometimes from alcohol and depressant overdoses you can die from choking on own vomit.
