Does Falim gum go bad?

I've acquired a pretty large box of Falim gum from a Turkish bodega in my town. I know the owner there pretty well, so he gave me a box of Falim he was about to toss because it had exceeded the sell by date. As of today it's about two weeks past the Sell By date printed on it.

Does Falim go bad? If so how fast? Is it still safe to chew two weeks past the sell by?
