There could be one true religion or there could be none and there wouldnt be an afterlife and we would die just like any organism. This is why it cannot be proved until death.

He says that the likelihood is that he does because that is the inference he’s made based off of the evidence he’s seen. So he chooses to believe. No one is sure and we never will be unless we have that hard proof.
