Does hydrogen peroxide + baking soda actually work to whiten teeth?

Has anyone tried using hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to whiten their teeth? What results did you get, and how did you use it? Is it safe for long-term use, or does it cause any damage to enamel?

Yeah but it fucked up my gums big time.
So its better to use whitening strips or get one of these whitening kits.

2 times a week should be fine, I also forgot to mention that I used a pretty low concentration of hydrogen peroxide (3%). also, pretty sure it only helps with surface level stains.
