Kashmir going to Pakistan will be problematic as it will displace too many Hindus and Sikhs who will be forced to move south to Punjab. In an Indian-controlled or shared Kashmir at least all religions will be allowed to coexist.

The country was a result of Jinnah's (a British stooge)strategy of muslim separatism, not a common ground on Hindu and Muslim divorcement from each other. So it doesn't work that way. For one, PoK was due to illegal infiltration of tribesmen from KPK and Afghanistan, the population wanted initially to be separated and once the infiltration was done, there was an immediate ceding to India because the complete lack of security from Pakistan. Pakistan tried with Hyderabad and Junagarh too and failed, look up history. The fact that pakistan immediately aligned with USA soon after makes the CIA covert operations for the infiltrations a huge possibility. And no, Indian army has been nowhere near as brutal as Pakistan, a hilarious joke. Democracy and civil dominance vs one vacillating between military puppetry or explicitly military state (and if military didn't gain stronghold, it would become a theological state).

As for being a big dick, look up development indices of Kashmir and the economic development and demographic factors of Indian Kashmir vs ALL OF PAKISTAN (PoK being nothing more than a base for state sponsored terrorist organisations). Kashmir is important as a strategic base being a vantage point against China and against state sponsored terrorism to Pakistan and definitely not letting Pakistan control the downstream flow of Indus river. Indispensable region and stop being high on ISPR propaganda.

Pakistan treats ahmediyas far worse than the case between hindus and muslims in India, I wont even talk on how minorities are treated in Pakistan. both were equally drained of resources post independence. If anything, Pakistan ended up getting huge funding from USA due to being a buffer state (of sorts) to USSR and USSR's interests in Afghanistan. India had the same treatment from USSR (being a stooge) only from the 70s. The country is so unstable politically and diplomatically, it fell like a pack of cards once US did a topsy turvy (essentially because USSR had fallen and China was becoming too big for its shoes years after Deng-Nixon deal so Pakistan of little use and a nuisance now) and a few years after it, India has turned to it.
