Does ketoconazole shampoo help prevent hairloss?

I did a bit of research into it and it says ketoconazole shampoo can help prevent hairloss by reducing scalp inflamation. Is this only if you have very bad dandruff to begin with, I mean I do have dandruff to an extent but not like a medically bad case. Or will ketoconazole shampoo help with bloodflow to the scalp regardless?
