Does mewing actually widen the maxilla or just supports it’s forward trajectory development?

I’m 14 so mewing will have a huge impact on me, i have a huge ahh fwhr ratio and I don’t want it to get worse, GPT says it’s normal for someone my age and facial lengthening happens the most from 15-18

The main reason I want to mew is to fix my slightly recessed maxilla while I still can and promote better facial structure but I don’t want it to widen my palate or maxillla at all
