i don’t think topical minox has done much for my hair in the past 10 months.

If I switch to oral minox, will it make the hairs (which wouldn’t have otherwise miniaturised) dependent on the minox?

I’m planning on starting dut soon too, so as long as the follicles themselves don’t get miniaturised, would I be fine to start the minox and safely come off without losing all the hair on my scalp?

So I know minoxidil temporary boosts hair growth while you use it, because of increased bloodflow, but does it cause hairs to become dependent on it?

So if I stop using the minox in a few years will all my hairs just fall out or will it just return to how it is currently (without minox).

yes you have to keep using minoxidil to keep the hair. if you stop minoxidil the hairs grown strictly from minoxidil will shed and fall off after some time.

Ok but what about the hairs not grown strictly on minox, those would be fine right?

yes if you somehow grew hairs without using any minoxidil (oral or topical) they wont fall off and will stay permanently or until affected by male pattern baldness or some other shit

This is highly individual and it depends where you actually applied the minoxidil.
As an example: You just applied at the hairline.

Even hairs that were there before minoxidil/are not grown from min can fall out after discontinuing. They will come dependent to minoxidil.

Many people will go below baseline when stopping minoxidil which will freak them out and they hop on again.

When you switch to oral what will most likely happen: You will experience a shed and you will loose existing hair that became minox dependend over time. The amount is highly individual.

Then you might recover everything from the oral version or not. Also depends on the individual

ill probably continue using topical alongside oral for a few months, and then if I am stable will remove the topical minox.

This is probably the best thing you can do. Start with oral and continue topical. Then taper off slowly
