Why do companies keep pushing single cylinder engines?

400+ cc single-cylinder bikes often struggle with reliability and smooth performance. Many of them face issues like incomplete torque bands, excessive vibrations, poor mileage, and stalling. The larger displacement combined with a 4-valve setup doesn't seem to make sense. Wouldn't it be better...

Also bikes are more practical because I can park them anywhere and drive them in narrow roads no problem. Bikes also look better and more Performance for same price.

Aprilia rs457 is actually made in India so are some bikes from triumph, Enfield etc. There's a huge biking culture here and to cater to thr demand many euro bikes manufacturers have made production local to keep priced down and introduced lower CC bikes. These bikes are selling like hot cakes. The Japanese bikes still made production fully local tho. Yamaha and Kawasaki still imports due to which the costs of those bikes is too high and they are out of competition .
