Not redpill cope. Even liberal studies will admit that there's an increase with abstinence. That's not the point though, even though there's evidence that it spikes T after a week, constantly jacking off will increase your prolactin levels and keep prolactin high for an extended period of time; high prolactin and high testosterone being negatively correlated. Also - just common sense will tell you that constantly jacking off, or even having to do it at all, is something you might want to grow out of because it's just a bad cope.

Research indicates that abstaining from ejaculation can influence testosterone and prolactin levels in various ways:
  1. Testosterone Increase with Abstinence: Abstinence from ejaculation leads to a periodic change in serum testosterone levels, peaking on the 7th day at 145.7% of the baseline (Jiang, 2002); (Jiang et al., 2003).
  2. Prolactin Increase Post-Ejaculation: Ejaculation can lead to a significant increase in serum prolactin levels. Studies have shown that prolactin is released in greater quantity than luteinizing hormone or growth hormone following ejaculation (Denschlag, Schuth, & Keck, 2001); (Convey, Bretschneider, Hafs, & Oxender, 1971).
  3. Premature Ejaculation and Hormone Levels: Patients with premature ejaculation have been found to have higher free testosterone and follicle-stimulating hormone levels compared to normal men, suggesting a complex relationship between ejaculation frequency and hormonal levels (Mohseni, Hosseini, Alizadeh, & Rangzan, 2014).
  4. Prolactin and Testosterone Interaction: High levels of prolactin can induce erectile dysfunction and result in secondary male infertility, mainly associated with the inhibition of dopaminergic activity and a reduction of testosterone levels (Zhang, Xu, Chen, & Wang, 2015).
In conclusion, abstaining from ejaculation appears to cause a temporary increase in testosterone levels, while ejaculation leads to an increase in prolactin levels. This complex interplay suggests a nuanced relationship between sexual activity, testosterone, and prolactin levels.

The relationship between pornography addiction and real-world intimacy or romantic problems is multifaceted:
  1. Negative Impact on Commitment and Infidelity: Higher pornography consumption is associated with lower commitment in romantic relationships and an increased likelihood of infidelity (Lambert, Olmstead, & Fincham, 2012).
  2. Relationship Quality: Watching pornography alone is linked to poorer relationship quality for men, but interestingly, it's associated with better relationship quality for women (Huntington, Markman, & Rhoades, 2020).
  3. Correlation with Intimacy Issues: Partner use of pornography is significantly negatively correlated with various forms of intimacy, such as emotional, sexual, and intellectual intimacy (Adamson, Martin, Deering, & Boden, 2021).
  4. Risk Factor for Intimate Partner Violence: Frequent pornography use among male partners in different-sex romantic relationships may be an under-recognized risk factor for intimate partner violence (Jongsma & Timmons Fritz, 2021).
  5. Impact on Relationship Satisfaction: Greater discrepancies between partners in pornography use are related to less relationship satisfaction, less stability, and less positive communication (Willoughby, Carroll, Busby, & Brown, 2016).
  6. Fear of Real-Person Intimacy: Constant involvement in pornography can negatively impact relationships and cause fear of real-person intimacy (Breed, 2022).
  7. Influence on Perceptions of Romantic Alternatives: Exposure to pornography increases the likelihood of intimate extradyadic behavior, mediated by heightened perceptions of romantic alternatives (Gwinn, Lambert, Fincham, & Maner, 2013).
  8. Diverse Effects on Relationship Dynamics: Pornography use within committed relationships has both positive and negative effects, mediated largely by communication between both partners (Newstrom & Harris, 2016).
In summary, pornography addiction or frequent use can be correlated with various issues in real-world intimacy and romantic relationships. However, the effects are complex and can vary based on individual and relationship dynamics.

  1. Fear of Real-Person Intimacy: Constant involvement in pornography can negatively impact relationships and cause fear of real-person intimacy (Breed, 2022).
